Implement a 10-year commitment for a bold Girls’ Education and Global Women’s Economic Empowerment initiative. This can spark Billions in International Development Aid to go into the hands of women’s grassroots funds and girls’ education, where it is proven to have the greatest impact.
The UAE has played a prominent leadership role in advancing women and youth, and have pledged hundreds million dollars for women and girls education around the world. We have a valiant new leader in Ajay Banga at the World Bank who is committed to alleviating global poverty and advancing women’s economic empowerment. Prime Minister Trudeau and President Macron made a historic investment in women and girls’ education when they hosted the G7 Summit in 2018 and 2019. Canada supports a Feminist International Development Agenda. It will host the G7 in 2025.
As President Biden and Prime Minister Trudeau celebrate this historic collaboration between the world’s two great democracies, they, together with their allies, will have an unprecedented opportunity for ‘soft power’ diplomacy to deepen alliances and coalition building to share their vision of hope for the future on the world stage. Together we can chart a new course for the future of the world’s women and girls. If not now when?
